About Macross
Our home, O' the Green Earth. Someday I shall return
In the year 1999, a city-sized alien spacecraft, later known as the SDF-1 Macross, crash lands on Earth. The United Earth government rebuilds the ship utilizing the advanced alien technology. On its maiden voyage, they are attacked by the Zentradi, a race of giant warriors. In order to escape the overwhelming alien forces, they attempt a space fold which inadvertently takes with them the entire city surrounding the Macross. The ship incorporates over 50,000 civilians into the ship's population as they attempt to make it back to Earth.
The story focuses on Hikaru Ichijyo a young civilian pilot who joins the military and his love triangle between Lynn Minmay, a rising star and idol of the Macross, and Misa Hayase, dedicated First Lieutenant in the military.
